Caregivr

App Design

As our society grows older, many people begin to take care of their parents. With high costs of elderly care facilities and many children living far away from their parents, it becomes increasingly difficult to care for family members. Caregivr is a new way to take care of your elderly family members remotely. A device will monitor your elderly family member to ensure they are taking their medicine, going to their appointments, and able to quickly notify someone when they need help.

This app includes a page to list medications, doctors, and pharmacies to ensure quick access to medical professionals in case of an emergency. Whether you are living 15 minutes or 5 hours from your dependent mother, Caregivr can help relieve stress of caring for elderly family.

  • User Personas

  • The app serves two personas: the “Caregiver” and the “Family Member.” The “Caregiver” would typically be someone over the age of 50 who has an elderly family member who needs to be taken care of. The “Family Member” would be that elderly person that needs to be taken care of.

  • Fonts & Colors

  • When choosing fonts, I decided to pick a easy-to-read, san-serif font to use throughout the design. Because the user of this app would most likely be over the age of 50, it was important to keep the app relatively simple to read and use quickly.

The primary green color symbolizes health and safety – two main goals of the app. The orange/red colors are used to stand out from the rest of the app to signify that they are alerts and should be dealt with ASAP.
